Once a diagnosis has been determined then the medical care technician will work with the doctor to write the prescription for the medication.
When a doctor does prescribe a medication for a patient the patient care technician will help the patient with the medication, but the doctor will also be responsible for monitoring the medication. Once the medication is complete then the medical care technician will take the prescription to the pharmacy and refill the prescription. The patient will then take the medicine as directed, but the patient care technician will always check for errors that could have been made during the medication.
Once the medication has been dispensed to the patient than the patient care technician will take the medication to the bedside where the patient is resting. A medical care technician will be responsible for the patient’s clothing and any other necessary equipment for the patient. These items include but are not limited to, the bed linen, bed pads, and blankets. After the equipment has been placed in the bed, the patient care technician will take the patient to their room and make sure that the patient is comfortable.
A patient care technician will be the patient care provider of the patient, but a doctor will also be present with the patient at all times. This means that if the patient is uncomfortable with anything, the medical care technician will step in and help them feel comfortable again. If a patient is having any problems with the medication, the doctor will ask them to contact them to discuss their concerns.
